Dubbo New Year Carnival
The Dubbo New Year Carnival (NYC) is a timed event that has been running for 40 years. It is hosted by the Dubbo Athletics Club. The NYC caters for all ages from Tiny Tots to 80years + and is aimed at family fun. In 2017 the NYC will run over three days with twilight events on Friday night 6th January 2017.
On Friday night we are running the new events that were introduced in the 2016 NYC which are the steeple chase and Hammer throw and these start from 7pm. Any one from U14′s up can enter but you must be registered with ANSW to compete in this event. Children and women will run 2k and the men will run 3k for the steeple chase. Being timed means every event has a given start time and we pride ourselves on keeping to schedule. This gives athletes the flexabilty to visit the attractions Dubbo has to offer over the weekend whithout missing out on their event. We offer most events in both track and field and the athlete must nominate their events prior to the closing date in order for the carnival to be timed. The cost of the carnival is $5 per event and $20 per relay team (Relay’s must be nominated by 3pm on the Saturday of the carnival).
